In the midst of being scattered due to persecution and geographic/ethnic diaspora, the Spirit of the Lord deployed followers of Jesus Christ to follow God’s mission in word and in witness. The descriptor of believers in Antioch is literally, “Anointed Ones.” I will share a word about what it means to be anointed, to engage in anointed work, and how God sustains the Church’s witness as embodied and exemplified in what we see a little of the apostolic activity in this passage.
