The mystery Paul is talking about in our text is not only Christ but also “Christ in you!” Through the Spirit, Christ lives in us! Christ’s presence in us means that we are the communicators of the mystery, that we will suffer as we proclaim Christ, that we can rejoice in the midst of suffering, and that Christ’s power works in us to make us mature.
