March 31 – Easter Sunday: “That You May Have Life in His Name” (John 11:1-45)

The seventh sign in John—the raising of Lazarus—declares good news.
First, it shows how much Jesus loves us. Second, it demonstrates that Jesus is the Son of God who can give life to the dead. Third, it teaches that Jesus’ resurrection power is available for his followers today. John wrote his gospel that we may believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that by believing we may have life in his name. Jesus is asking us the same question he asked Martha: “Do you believe this?”
