When Jesus was crucified, he did not ask for justice or vengeance upon his killers. Rather, he prayed “Father, forgive them.” Even as he was dying on the cross, Jesus had compassion for his enemies and prayed for them. Jesus’ compassion is in stark contrast to people’s lack of compassion for him. Even now, when we sin, Jesus intercedes for us before the Father as our advocate. Have you been forgiven of your sins? Have you forgiven others?
