The overarching theme of Romans 5 to 8 is the assurance of the hope that those God justified, God will glorify. What stands in the way of this glorification? Sin and death, as we saw in chapter 6. In chapter 7, Paul deals with another hindrance to our glorification – the law. In Christ, we not only died to sin, but we died also to the law so that we can serve God in the new way of the Spirit.
